Lucky
This section of the garden was unusual for a large clump of pale white plants. The dark ground and shadowy shapes behind the plant were in sharp contrast to the pale, droopy leaves. Though I love the plants I paint, I’m equally intrigued by the dark shadowy spaces around them. I titled this one “Lucky” for the clovers in the bottom right corner, and gratitude for being able to spend so much of my time painting.
24×36” Original acrylic painting on canvas, framed in a float frame. Currently on view at the Hillsborough Gallery of Arts.
